This pathway perspective shot was taken in Acadia National Park. I love what this shot represents. The path moving forward into the unknown surrounded by beauty. This shot was taken in the summer of 2014 using a Nikon D800 and 16-35mm F4 Lens.
Adirondack Seventh Lake
Taken on 7th lake in the Adirondacks near Inlet NY. This is actually the place that my parents brought me to when I was a child. I still bring my Mother here every fall, and get up early in the morning to enjoy the peace and of course, try to get some photos.
Night on Seventh Lake
This was taken last fall, and one of my first outings with the Fuji XT2. I used the Rokinon 12mm F2.8 manual lens for this one. Personally I am not a fan of manual lenses, but they are generally cheaper, and of course primes are generally sharper than zooms. This was taken on Seventh Lake near Inlet NY.
The Lightning Strike
Here is a summer shot from the summer of 2016. This was taken with the Fujifilm X-T1 and 16-55 F2.8 lens. I actually set this up on a goby tripod in the window of my bedroom. The storm was raging and set a long exposure of 30 seconds. I got pretty lucky with this strike.
The Nauset Lighthouse
This shot was taken early in the morning with the Fuji XT-1 and 16-55 F2.8. It's always interesting to try and pick a composition. I wanted the visible moon in the shot, but I also wanted the lighthouse and light. I suppose the balance is a bit off as a result.
The Nauset Lighthouse is located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts along the eastern shore.
Myrtle Beach Morning
This shot was taken with the Nikon D750 and 16-35mm F4 Lens in December of 2015. The past few years I have been going to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week in the winter. It's very quiet there and I can really stretch my legs regarding photography.
Cape Breton Camping
On a trip up to Nova Scotia in 2015, we struggled to find a place to stay in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Asking around we found that some people were staying for free on the beach in Pleasant Bay. We decided to stay on the beach and it was fantastic, meeting people from other countries. I used the Photo Pills app and noticed that the Milky Way was facing east. It worked out perfectly. I used a Nikon D750 and a 20mm F1.8 for this shot.
Night Photography in Stowe VT
On a very cold and very early morning in January 2016 this shot was taken. It was right off a road so it took a few tries as cars were passing by on occasion and disturbing the long exposure shot. This was taken with the Nikon D750 and 20mm F1.8.
Here is a shot taken with the Nikon D810 and 80-400mm F4.0-5.6 lens. I was used to always using wide angle lenses for landscape photography at this point. When I was taking some wildlife pictures this particular evening, I decided to try some long range landscape shots of this sunset. It worked nicely, and from this point forward I always try to bring at least a 200mm lens on landscape shoots.
Here is a shot taken back in August of 2013. I had my first full-frame camera at the time, the Nikon D600. Driving around Lake Placid on this particular morning I noted the mist and the rising sun and had to pull over and take a few shots.
The Wooden Tunnel
This photo was taken on a trip out west in 2013. The particular location was in the Columbia River Gorge area of Oregon. This was an old railroad covered bridge. The perspective and architecture I found really interesting. This was taken with the Nikon D600 and 16-35F4 Lens.
This is one of my favorite shots from a trip to Nova Scotia in 2015. I love the reflection and the golden light of the rising sun on this boat near Digby Harbor in the Bay of Fundy. This shot was taken with the Nikon D750 and 24-70F2.8 lens.
